Damaged Solar Systems

Solar panel systems can be partly or completely damaged because of hail, wind, flooding, or fire. Often, when disaster strikes a solar system, only a portion is destroyed leaving behind surviving panels. These solar panels may still be in good working condition. It would be a shame to throw these very usable solar panels into landfills. Reusing the solar panel helps to avoid paying the high cost to recycle. Many of these discarded solar panels can be re-used and provide clean energy for an additional 10 plus years, giving renewed life and clean energy to communities and individuals that have little to no reliable electricity.

For solar to be truly sustainable, the solar panels need to be properly handled when they no longer are in use. Solar panels can contain hazardous materials such as Lead, Cadmium, Tin and rare earth components that can leach and contaminate our ground water. This needs to be prevented by properly processing all discarded solar panels.

All solar panels are collected, cleaned, tested, and certified for reuse or for recycling. All materials in the solar panel are reclaimed for making new solar panels and other products. Nothing is ever landfilled.
